Editorial review policy

How operators are reviewed and scored

Every casino on this site goes through the same routine and the same scoring. This page sets out how that works and where the limits are.

The seven factors in every score

Each editorial score out of ten is a weighted blend of the areas below. The weighting is decided in advance and applied identically to every operator, so a score is comparable across the whole list.

  • Offer clarity (20%). How plainly bonus and promotion terms are written.
  • Site usability (18%). Navigation, search and how quickly you find a game.
  • Payments (16%). Range of methods and how clearly timeframes are stated.
  • Game variety (16%). Breadth of slots, tables and live-dealer content.
  • Mobile experience (14%). Performance of the app or mobile site on real devices.
  • Terms transparency (10%). Whether key conditions are easy to locate and read.
  • Safer gambling visibility (6%). How prominent player-protection tools are in the account.

How we gather evidence

Reviews are based on what we can actually observe. We register or open the relevant pages, read the full terms behind any promotion, and use search and filters on both a phone and a desktop. Where it is practical, we contact support with a simple query and note roughly how long a useful reply takes. We also confirm that the operator presents a Great Britain licence and point readers to the public register to check it for themselves.

What our scores are not

  • They are not official, regulatory or endorsed by any operator.
  • They are not a prediction of winnings, payouts or account approval.
  • They do not declare any single casino the “best” for everyone.
  • They are not based on invented review counts or star tallies.

We deliberately avoid giving every operator a near-perfect mark. Sites differ, so the scores differ. A lower score is not an accusation; it usually points to one or two areas that could be clearer.

Balance over hype. A good review names strengths and weaknesses. If an operator does something well we say so, and if a term is buried or a process is clunky we say that too.

Keeping reviews current

Promotions, payment methods and even ownership change regularly, so we revisit operators and reshuffle the line-up between editions. Even so, the operator's own site is always the final word on current terms. If you find something here that no longer matches reality, please flag it through the contact page and we will check it.

Independence and funding

We earn affiliate commissions, but they are kept separate from scoring. The full explanation is on our affiliate disclosure page, and you can see the method applied in practice on the how we compare page.
